Our Storyboards
Last quarter we worked on the storyboards for our video. Storyboards are boards that record events that will be in our video. They show what will happen in the video. Firstly, we thought what we want to include, then we wrote our scripts. Then we drew pictures to match our scripts.
With the storyboards we want help to make the video. We want to make it easier for ourselves when we are shooting.

Progress Update
So we are back from our Tet break and we are making progress on our video. To create the video students are following a simple plan.
Step One: Pick a Theme
Our students decided to focus on foods and famous places in Ho Chi Minh City. We are going to show how HCMC is a blend of traditional food and international foods. Along the way we will show off some of the famous places in the city.
Step Two: Brainstorm Ideas
We made a list of all the things we might want to show in the video. This list contained food, restaurants, famous places, etc.
Step Three: Create an Outline
Next the students narrowed our focus and picked the locations and food we wanted to include in the video from our brainstormed list. Once we did that, we created an outline for the movie that focused on the beginning, middle, and end.
Step 4: Create a Script
Our next step is to create a script of what students will say during the film.
Step 5: Create a Story Board
Our final step before filming will be to create a story board that tells us what we will show in the film.
We have heard from a number of schools who are excited about our Virtual World Tour project and are planning on participating. We would love to have even more participants. Check out my students challenge below if you are interested in our project. We have no deadline on these projects as this is an after school club that will run until the end of the year in June. We will post videos as we receive them.
Thanks and looking forward to seeing your tour!

Our Challenge to You
Hello from Vietnam!
We are students from the American International School in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam. We are in an after school club called the Virtual World Tour. In this club we are making a 5 minute video that shows off our city. Our video is going to be about famous places and food in Ho Chi Minh City. Once we finish we are going to post our video to Google Tour Builder for everyone to see.
We need your help to get this project off the ground. We want you to make a video, like us, but about your city or town. The video should be about 5 minutes long, and it should show off your city or town. It does not have to be about food like us. It can be anything about where you live. Think of it like a 5 minute tour of your city.
When you finish, upload the video to YouTube and send it to us at our teachers email mtclancy86@gmail.com. We will add your video to the world tour so people can view your video when they click on your town.
